Vermont Ice Storm 20, Chateauguay 17

Vermont Ice Storm 20, Chateauguay 17: At Montreal, the Vermont Ice Storm wiped out an early 10-0 deficit and held on for a win over Chateauguay in Empire Football League action Saturday night.

Chateauguay grabbed a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter before the Ice Storm (7-2) began its comeback.

Linebacker Chris Coppins got things started, intercepting a pass and returning it 75 yards for a score. The extra point made it 10-7.

Brad Ruderman hooked up with Austin Partain on a 5-yard scoring pass seven seconds before halftime to make it 13-7. The extra point failed.

Chateauguay kicked a field goal to make it 13-10 before Ruderman hit Kevin Matott with a 3-yard scoring pass and the extra point was good, making it 20-10. Chateauguay scored a touchdown late in the third quarter.

Coppins led the Ice Storm's stout defense with seven tackles and the interception. Jim Buzzi finished with eight tackles, Jason Griner had six tackles and Drew Gordon added five tackles and an interception.
